Do I enlist before my USMC band audition?

Question by Spiderman Parker: Do I enlist before my USMC band audition?
Basically I’ve decided to join the Marine Corps!
I also decided I wish to go through the MEOP(Music Enlistment Option Program).
Only problem is after I finish my paperwork my recruiter said I need to enter the DEP(Delayed Entry Program) THEN set up the audition. I’m pretty sure that’s BS because then they’d have a binding contract.
So can I request the audition first or do I have to sign in order to get audition?

I know a girl who auditioned and passed before she enlisted….I’m not sure how, but definitely look more into it.
