Dealing with loud neighbors (apartment)….Please read this and tell me what you think?

Question by Graysonfour: Dealing with loud neighbors (apartment)….Please read this and tell me what you think?
: Residents of Apt# 229,This letter is to ask that you please be considerate of your neighbors. You may not be aware that you have neighbors next door, above, and behind your apartment that are affected by the choices being made in your home.Booming music, loud computer noises, and yelling at all hours of the night is not appreciated by those forced to live around your residence. The apartment lease contract states in paragraph 20 “You and your occupants or guests may not engage in the following activities: ……. behaving in a loud or obnoxious manner; disturbing or threatening the rights, comfort, health, safety, or convenience of others in or near the apartment community….”. It does not specify a time in which it IS acceptable to be loud or obnoxious because you never know who is living around you that could be impacted negatively. An elderly person may need to rest in the middle of the day, a newborn baby might be easily upset by loud, booming music, or it could be someone who needs their sleep for work early in the morning. Whatever the circumstances might be, you have neighbors that are being affected by noise coming from your apartment. It is not everyday noises, or even music played at an acceptable level (preferably with headphones)….it is loud, obnoxious, and inconvenient choices that are affecting other residents. By continuing to allow these disturbances to go on, you are violating your lease contract and management would have to be notified. Please be considerate of your neighbors.Thank you.

**my husband and I have a three year old, and a newborn, and we are dealing with parents who have a teenager that likes to boom his music, turn AIM up full blast, and laugh like a hyena all night long. Unfortunately his room shares our wall. It’s an everyday, all night thing. We’ve already called the apartment patrol officer and he’s talked to them three times. I figured if they got a letter that gave them a different perspective, they might tell their kid to stop. They work at night, so he’s by himself a lot. I’m just trying to get my family some peace while we ride out the rest of our lease. (five more months…woo-hoo!)
I was going to send it certified mail…that way the parents get it, and I cover myself in case they claim I never tried to resolve it with them first. My husband says I watch too much Judge Judy…hahaha.
