Alaskan Way Viaduct Program Administrator Ron Paananen speaks at the ceremony for the signing of a contract with Seattle Tunnel Partners to design and build the SR 99 bored tunnel. The bored tunnel is the preferred alternative for replacing the seismically unsafe Alaskan Way Viaduct along Seattle’s downtown waterfront.

County hauling out tons of debris
Through Sunday, District 1 and contract crews had hauled away 123 dumptruck loads of debris. Countywide, crews had hauled away 3,337.5 tons of debris from tornado-damaged areas.
