Copyright permission on music?
Question by Daniel W: Copyright permission on music?
Hey, I want to write an arrangement of a piece of music however i don’t know how to get permission!
It’s Music from a film called ‘Valliant’ (2005 UK&US?) and the music was written by George Fenton. All i know is the company who produced the CD (Hollywood records).
Does anyone know where i can go to ask permission to arrange this music?
There are no arrangements available of this music (unlike pieces by say, John Williams) so i cant find who published the work or any info like that.
Any help is a bonus.
Thanks, ~D

firstly, if your using it for personal, or non-profit videos, there shouldn’t be a problem, if your using this music for something to gain money (movie, consert ect), they will probably ask for a cut.
Here is a link with the contact details of Hollywood records, there the ones you should contact, even if they cant give permission, they’ll direct you to someone who can.

Hope I helped.
