As a songwriter or musical composer you own the Copyright to your original Property. All the Rights to a piece of original music or a song are Property and as such can be bought, sold, assigned, inherited or given away. Hence, a Composer may sell her/his/their original composition to a new Owner.
To earn a profit the Composer and/or the Owner of a piece of music or a song will need a Publisher to sell your Property.
This legal music contract includes but is not limited to the following music contract Clauses; Royalties, copyright assignment, payment obligation dates, auditing, composer/owner ownership covenant and motion picture synchronization. Your Lawyer will draft any and all other clauses for your Project’s unique situations and circumstances.
This music contract Agreement between the independent Composer/Owner and the Publisher is drafted in plain English that is easy to read and comprehend. The music contract Agreement may be filled in on your computer or printed out and filled in later.
