Concert Online presents: Blood Red Shoes – Live at Melt! 2008 (Trailer)

Concert Online had exclusive rights to record the Blood Red Shoes performance at the 2008 Melt! Festival. The duo – Laura-Mary Carter on guitar and Steven Ansell on drums – was formed in 2005. After more than 300 live concerts, the Blood Red Shoes were signed by the indie label V2 in April 2007. One year later the band released its first album, “Box of Secrets.” However, the band had already released six singles and two EPs in the two previous years. The band’s style can be described as alternative rock with hard rock leanings. Despite Blood Red Shoes’ contract with an indie label, the band does not consider itself a member of the indie rock genre. The bloody history behind the band’s name can be traced back to the actress Ginger Rogers. As the story goes, she once had to repeat a tap-dancing scene so many times that her white shoes were dyed blood-red from the wounds on her feet.
