Computer Programming to Make Forms?

Question by Smothers65: Computer Programming to Make Forms?
I own a contracting business and I and very tech savvy. Right now I am using excel spreadsheets with formulas to keep track of expenses, pay, and a few other things. I am looking into making a program that will allow me to type in the particular boxes and check which boxes I want the data to be entered into. I then want it to be added to a spreadsheet or document of some type I can print out the results. I am very familar with HTML but don’t think that has much to do with programming. I was wondering about VisualBasic or Java. I am very foreign to C++. Any help, ideas, or documentation would be very much appreciated.

Why reinvent the wheel when there are at least 5 different accounting / bookkeeping programs that do exactly what you want?

To make something like you describe it would take at least a week’s effort if you have decent programming skills. If you value your time at $ 10 an hour, that’s $ 400. Quickbooks Premiere costs about $ 350. Enough said.
