Charley Brighton-Euphonium soloist – Maestoso Spiritoso

Maestoso Spiritoso is an inspired composition by Terry Treherne, a Salvation Army composer who hails from Exeter in Devon, UK.It was composed for Willson Euphonium Artist Charley Brighton and premiered with Malcolm Stowell at St. Mary’s Slough and is a brilliant new addition to the repertoire.The brass band version was later premiered with the Staines Band of The Salvation Army, Bandmaster Tim Parker, with the composer in attendance. Charley has a long and exciting history of playing the Euphonium. In 2005 he celebrated his 40th year of making music on this great instrument. His current status includes Euphonium soloist, band director, band trainer and brass teacher. He is currently Euphonium soloist and guest conductor with the BBC Elstree Concert Band, based at London s Maida Vale Studios, the City of London Winds based at St. Paul s In Covent Garden, the Staines Band of the Salvation Army and the Orchestra of the City.
