Carlos Laboy, a talented Spanish/ American R&B vocalist made his way into the limelight at a very young age. His love and passion for music lead him to develop his craft every chance he had. Singing and dancing since the age of 4, he captivated audiences with his stage presence and amazing vocal range. When Carlos was 16, he recorded his first CD entitled “There Are Times” in which he wrote and sang on every track. A native of Yonkers, NY , Carlos moved to New York City at the age of 18 to pursue his dream of obtaining a recording contract with a major label. Putting himself out there he auditioned and landed in many castings such as a Spanish television show called “Protagonistas de la Musica” (“Rising Stars of Music”) which aired on the Telemundo network (Channel 47). “Objetivo Fama” (“Object To Fame”) on the Univision network ( Channel 41). His dream of obtaining a recording contract almost came true when he became one of the 3 male finalists picked out of thousands of contestants on a Spanish/ American talent based competition called ” Nueva Estrella Awards ” (“New Star Awards”). This TV show in which the contestants competed for a chance to record an album with SONY BMG aired for a number of months on Channel 2 WCBS. Although Carlos did not come out on top, he went from being just another unknown talent to being one of the most talked about unsigned artists in the industry.
