Can you play a musical instument and write your own music?
Question by JusDunno: Can you play a musical instument and write your own music?
I’m a non-performing song-writer who does not play an instrument! I write only lyrics and have been lucky enough to win several contests. I have even had my lyrics in front of the eyes of Paramount Recording agents. However, in order for my lyrics to make it to a band for recording, studios and publishing companies want to hear demos with music. This poses a problem since I don’t play! I have a love for all music but, write mostly country and some southern rock. I’ve also been know to write a powerful rock song comparable to the lyrical stylings of the band Hurt. So, I’m looking for a performer who is willing to start a song-writing collaboration. A love for all music is a must but, a specific fondness towards country and pop rock is a plus. I am serious in pursuing my dream as a song writer but, I don’t want to wait to teach myself to play guitar. So, do you want to try to break into the biz? I’m from Michigan, so anyone from here would be great to work with. Anyone from Nashville looking for an aspiring and award winning song-writer would also be great!
