Rave and Dance are two different EDM genres. If what you mean is music playable at raves, almost any fast EDM is fair game. The word “rave” is a term used to describe a EDM dance that may involve the use of controlled substances such as MDMA. Any other dance playing EDM, but not incorporating such substances is not technically a rave although most EDM dances no longer use such substances and thus, all EDM dances may be referred to raves by some people. Also, EDM producers make a wide variety of music. Some tracks may sound completely different from others, thus knowing the “top three artists” won’t help you much, but knowing the top three tracks will. Several sites have top ten charts based on downloads. These sites will also allow you to hear the differences between the different genres of EDM, depending on the site. These sites are: beatport.com, audiojelly.com, juno.co.uk, and trackitdown.net, although there many other small shops.

Here are my picks for best tracks for a rave off the top of my head (keep in mind these aren’t part of the “rave” genre, but nevertheless played at raves).:

3. Space Raven vs. Wavetraxx – Sandra’s Song (Space Raven Mix)
