My buddy wants to sell me his iphone for real cheap, but i have Tmobile. Im thinking about buying the Iphone and just using it for music. Can i do this? Also, does the Iphone have wifi? Could i use the internet as well without having a contract?

If the iPhones work in the same way as other GSM phones do, then it should do everything but make calls and other things that rely on the network. That being said, he has to leave his SIM card in there, or else the phone will ask you to put a SIM card in, and won’t let you get past that screen (and you therefore won’t be able to use the other phone functions).

The iPhone does indeed have WiFi, and it will be the only way you can get onto the internet without paying for service, since the other way is to use the cellular networks’ data networks.
