can i sue a music band i was fired from?

Question by daniel: can i sue a music band i was fired from?
I was recently laid off from a music band i used to play with. I was one of the main attractions of the band, and i worked my butt off getting gigs and promoting the band. So the manager of the group, who is also a musician in the band, fired me without any prior notice. Can i sue the band since i helped them get a lot of work(performances) and get some sort of compansation? I never signed a contract, so legally i wasnt hired with the band for a certain amount of time. theres no paperwork or legal documentation stating that i helped get the performances. I live in the state of texas. Your opinions on the matter are greatly appreciated. Thank You.

As always in the state of Texas and the good old USA you can sue for anything but you could not prevail without contracts outlining your duties as a co-manager/booking agent if you preformed all the tasks as well as performing with the band then it would be considered part of your unassigned duties.~
