i mean it uses wifi for web or the or the actual phone service right? so it should be fine. and like all other old phones, it should still play music store numbers etc play vids and music
also if the wifi works without a contract i can download apps for it to no?

Yes you can use the phone for everything except calling and texting, via WiFi
