Will I still be qualified to work for him ? Thanks. I Plan to go to college for music business & make a career out of it. He thinks I do a good job & I guess that is what matters. Thanks.

you don’t really need special education for anything in the music business (with the exception of entertainment law). it’s all about who you know, or being in the right place at the right time. if your friend blows up and wants you to be the manager, its his choice. having music business knowledge will help. people that have been managing for years have connections and know what to do and how to do it. as a beginner, you wont have that experience.
i would plan a back-up plan in case the music business doesn’t work out. the chances that your friend gets a record deal is slim. and the chances of you making anything out of a manager career in music is slim as well. jobs are fading fast in the music industry, a lot of people are downsizing. don’t put all your chips in one basket. get a degree in business, or communications. both can apply to the music industry, but are general enough that you wont isolate yourself.
with music, the sky is the limit. you may end up to be the next big thing, but the percentages are very very small. if its your passion, don’t give up. but remember that it’s not easy to get a job in the industry.
