Can a musician just quit a job to start another one?
Published November 25, 2010
Question by Elizabeth: Can a musician just quit a job to start another one?
I don’t know if a contract is involved but I know a musician who has a job in Las Vegas and he was asked to join a tour with someone else. Can he just quit the gig in Las Vegas to go on tour or would that be unprofessional or not allowed?
I guess musicians usually go by “first come, first service” basis, I don’t know.

It’s a good way to burn a bridge with your former employer, but without a contract, anyone can quit a job at any time.
