Cablevision And Fox At it Again Over Contract, Baseball Fans May Go Crazy

You know its fall when the leaves start changing color, the air gets crisp and Cablevision Systems (NYSE:CVC) and Fox begin squabbling over contract terms. Cablevision’s 3.1 million subscribers in New York and Philadelphia may lose access to Fox stations and cable channels that include Fox Business and National Geographic Wild, if the companies fail to reach an agreement by midnight. The issue may cause a serious uproar amongst baseball fans as the New York Yankees and Philadelphia Phillies are contending for the playoffs. Cablevision argues that Fox is asking for an unreasonable amount by doubling the price to 0 million from million a year ago. Last year, the two parties settled on a one-year contract extension with the Yankees heading to the World Series. However, baseball fans may not be as lucky this year since the companies don’t seem to be budging on the issue. SmarTrend currently has Cablevision Systems in a Downtrend and is currently monitoring these developments and will alert subscribers to any change of trend.
