Bananarama – Venus

“Venus” is a single from Bananarama´s third album: True Confessions, released in 1986. (Venus is a 1969 song by the Dutch band Shocking Blue which the group took to number one in the US and five countries across Europe in 1970). Notably covered by girl group Bananarama, the song returned to number one in the US and topped the charts in six other countries around the world in -86. The composition has been featured in numerous films, television shows and commercials, and covered dozens of times by artists around the world. Bananarama are a British female pop group which has had success on the pop and dance charts since 1982. Although there have been line-up changes during the years, the group enjoyed its most popular success as a trio, made up of lifelong friends Siobhan Fahey, Keren Woodward and Sara Dallin. Since 1988, Bananarama have been listed in the Guinness World Records as the all-female group with the most chart entries. Bananarama recorded their first demo, “Intention a Mwana” in 1981. The band made their first recording contract with Demon Records, who released a single in song the same year. Shortly afterwards, the band signed a record label, London Records, with the agreement, which continued until 1993. Bananarama was the beginning of well-known specialty of song arrangements , in which all three members singing at the same time the same melody in the same key, and for example, three-piece harmonies.
