you’re in a local band…someone from california has been in contact with a band mate of yours for a while and claims to have been the former manager for some pretty successful bands….this person is REALLY interested in ur music and wants your band to go on tour to see how you do before getting you signed to a label…..

so….MY QUESTION IS:

HOW do you protect your band from getting screwed over? How can you make sure that this random person in california is being truthful about their resume?

You can actually contact the company he claims to be employed and state that he is using them as his “alibi” and you just want to confirm that he is an employee and what his position is.
