Question by ttgirly98: Are there any stars that got famous by sending videos of them singing to record labels?
I want to be a singer, or actress. I LOVE it. I would do anything to live my dream. I want to send videos of me singing to all different types of record labels. But i don’t know if they will get back to me or anything. Is there any celebrities that got famous that way? I don’t want to add videos to youtube. But i will if i have to. Can anyone help me. Thank you.

Record labels get enough of that these days that they ignore a vast majority of it.

The most common way to “go from rags to riches” I guess you could call it would be the www.youtube.com route. Several people have gotten their names out there because of youtube. The most recent success story obviously is Justin Bieber.

Several other people who have proved to be good, have made it on misc. talk shows and other news sites. If you are actually good and make it that far, you might be able to use the publicity from that to get a small fan base and go from there.

Youtube is a good way to get people to listen to you. You can do it from the comfort of your home, and are able to ignore people who may give poor comments. However, if you DO get those poor comments from several people across several different videos of you singing? It might be telling you something that you are missing.
