I want them to be able to sign up to my website to sell music and get paid instantly after the customers pay. Similar to RocBattle, MyBeatShop, or Givemebeats.

Sure, you need the Joomla-Virtuemart version plus an ACL plugin. MyBeatShop uses Joomla, with a heavily-customised template plus custom-built plugins.

Virtuemart is the ecommerce version (or plugin) for Joomla. An ACL plugin will allow members to upload their own page and edit it.

You need to get J-VM from www.joomla.org, in the Extensions directory. You can also find an ACL plugin there.

Or wait til October when the J team will release J1.6 with core ACL.

Gotta warn you that what you want to do is not really for CMS beginners, ideally you need someone to hold your hand there. But you can find help resources if you search eg ‘how cms works’.
