Humanity in War: Tony Hanna

On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the battle of Solferino, the ICRC published ‘Humanity in War : photos from the front since 1860’. The ICRC delegation in Lebanon has produced a video series where guests speak about a photo of their choosing. Tony Hanna is Lebanese and one of the most popular singers in the Arab world. He was the biggest Arab youth star in the early seventies. He sold thousands of hit records, earned millions and spent even more in helping the vulnerable classes of the society. It is known that beggars took holidays after his passage. He is probably the only established artist who signed a management and production contract without reading it, living only for his art.
