This is truly exciting news, and is yet another example of why Rock Band is truly a far superior product than Guitar Hero. The opportunities here are boundless. Now music acts can use the exact same authoring tools the developers at Harmonix use to create Rock Band, to author their own songs into the Rock Band, submit them online for peer review, and ultimately have these games show up for purchase in the Rock Band games on Xbox LIVE, Playstation Network and on the Nintendo Wii console. A year ago, Harmonix hinted they were working on something like this, but they were not going to do anything of the sort until they could do it right. With this system, even completely unknown bands can submit their copyrighted work, for sale and profit on Rock Band. The opportunities for established music acts to reach new audiences is boundless.
