Questions concerning illegal music.?

Question by brian: Questions concerning illegal music.?
“In MGM v. Grokster last summer, the Supreme Court ruled companies are responsible for the illegal acts of their users.”

So Limewire users, etc, cannot get in trouble, correct? But the RIAA is still cracking down on these users sharing music?

“U.S. Copyright Law {Title 17 U.S.C. Section 101 et seq., Title 18 U.S.C. Section 2319} Federal law protects copyright owners from the unauthorized reproduction, adaptation, performance, display or distribution of copyright protected works. ”

If I buy a CD, is it true that it is ‘unauthorized reproduction’ to simply rip this CD onto my computer?

Does this mean if I play my music loud it is considered “display” and if someone Sings it out loud and records their voice on a karaoke, it’s considered reproduction? I would say screw em their making to much money off of it anyway. If it is sold to me I should be able to do anything I want with it.
