Contract Labor question…?

My husband is considered a contract labor for a music store. He shows up for scheduled guitar lesson and so far that is going good.
BUT… he has to go in for meetings to “discuss” things with the other instructors and management.
My question is should they be paying him for these meetings.

I would say no. Just because its just like you hiring a contractor to fix your house. You ask him to “discuss” plans and estimates. Do you expect him to charge you? But I would keep a time log and if you want to claim it on taxes keep receipts of cost(gas, drinks/dinner if it is that kind of meeting)
