Would you drop out of this theatre production if you were me?

Question by Not Really: Would you drop out of this theatre production if you were me?
I’m in grade 12, and I’ve done musical theatre twice before at our school, and this year I was convinced I WOULDNT do it because I was already really busy, and I regretted doing it last year as I was chorus. However, it was the Sound of Music, so i was like, AH i HAVE to audition lol. So I did, and I got the role of Frau Schmidt the housekeeper, which is just like.. ehhh.. but I didn’t quit because I had a lot of lines, and my friend was like NO YOU CANT QUIT. But its 2 weeks in, the production is in December, and I’ve only read my part twice. But everytime I go, I’m just really pissed off, and stressed out because i have a lot of extra cirricular activities, and I actually do not look forward to going to the rehearsals at all. There was a contract to stay in the production, but I havnt signed it yet, so really I shouldn’t have any obligation to stay in it, but I just feel bad quitting, but it’s really not good for me to stay in it. If you were me would you quit?

Well if you want to be a professional actress, you won’t drop out. Let’s say when you’re older and you are in a play, rehearsals for 10 hours every day, then 8 preformances a week. Thats what the real acting world is like and if you want to be a part of it you can’t just go ehhh and want to quit when it gets tough. If you’re other activities are more important to you, then let someone who wants this more than you have the part, but if you want to be a prefessional actress, you won’t drop out.
