Question by Τau19: How do I make a very simple to the point sales contract?
I am selling my PS3 including peripherals and a game with another individual I know, and I want to create a final sale agreement with this person. The reason I want to do this is because I don’t trust this person, meaning that I fear he may damage it somehow then blame me for the damages and try to sue me to get his money back. In this contract I would like to establish the following: the purchase date, what is being sold (listing every item included), the buyer agreeing that he tested it, that he understands that I will not accept returns under any circumstances, and whatever else that you deem as necessary to the agreement. Please help me in creating a template for this contract, including anything else not mentioned by me that may be significant in a court of law. I’ve tried searching the net for templates, but they are very corporate like and comprehensive. Answers directing me to another website will NOT get the best answer. Please type the contract template in your answer. It does not need to big too comprehensive. Just a basic contract that you might have seen in a court show that was very effective. Basic Sales Agreement follows:
I, —–buyer—-, have purchased the following from —–seller—-:
List make, model, serial number, et al. Software, too.
For yadayada dollars.
I, —-buyer— , know I purchase this item ‘as is’. I shall hold —seller— not liable for any defect of equipment or software. I am also aware that resale voids manufacturer’s warranties issued to original owner.
GOT THAT? Get it notarized and accept money order or check as payment. Make a copy before you cash it.
